Last month, IX headed to Tokyo as part of our continued efforts to expand in Asia Pacific. Our team held meetings with new partners to gain insight, attended conferences to learn more about the new market, and of course, indulged in some sushi (and sake) here and there.
We kicked off the trip with a panel at Ad Week Asia to discuss the rapidly evolving media landscape and the value of creativity, storytelling and big ideas. Throughout the week, we met with various top Japanese publishers and buyers looking for alternative solutions to their programmatic stack.
In order to connect with more programmatic players in the Asian Pacific (APAC) region, we officially initiated our partnership with cyber communications inc. (CCI). CCI has been a pioneer of Japanese digital marketing since the onset of digital advertising in Japan. As a Dentsu Group digital marketing company, it offers a wide range of digital marketing services for publishers and agencies. Today, CCI partners with over 500 leading ad agencies and over 1,500 websites – the largest scale for the market.
“It is our pleasure to enter into this partnership with Index Exchange, and we’re excited to bring new revenue opportunities to Japanese media companies through this collaboration,” said CCI’s President, Akio Niizawa. “I believe this initiative will be beneficial in maximizing monetisation for a variety of premium publishers and we are confident the great success Index has cultivated in North America and Europe will further scale in the Japanese market with CCI.”
With programmatic digital ad display in Japan expected to reach $170 billion by 2020 and the 2020 Olympics in sight, Japanese publishers recognise the scale and efficiency potential programmatic advertising can offer their digital advertising strategies. We are excited to partner with Japanese publishers to test new solutions and ultimately bring more choice, trust and transparency.
The partnership with CCI will give us the opportunity to connect with premium publishers looking to add more choice to their programmatic strategies. We look forward to providing an independent viewpoint coupled with a solution backed by strong technology and infrastructure in Japan! For more information regarding how IX is expanding globally, click here.
